Lauri Wilks (Eberhart) Named Charlotte Businesswoman of the Year

Lauri Wilks (Eberhart) has been named as the 2007 Charlotte businesswoman of the year by Queens University of Charlotte and Wachovia Corp. Wilks is executive vice president of management and administration at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

The award recognizes the achievement of women in for-profit enterprises, based on their contributions to the business, civic and cultural life of the Charlotte region.

She was chosen for the award from a field of five finalists.

The others were Barbara Anderson, president of AMS Specialty Steel; Terri DeBoo, director of marketing for All American Roofing; Melissa McGuire, director of Sherpa; and Anne Vulcano, first vice president of office properties at CB Richard Ellis Inc.

The award is presented annually at a luncheon held at Queens University, which has sponsored the award since its inception in 1986. Charlotte-based Wachovia (NYSE:WB) joined as a cosponsor in 1992.
